Why MeritPeak Partners

Because advisor transitions deserve more than a sales pitch. We built MeritPeak to bring clarity, structure, and discretion to a decision most advisors only get to make once.

Start With Clarity

Who we are, what makes our approach different, and why advisors work with us.

Questions Worth Asking

What advisors commonly want to know

No. Many conversations begin before an advisor has decided whether a change is necessary. We help you evaluate your current situation, understand your options, and determine whether staying, moving, or exploring a different structure makes the most sense.

Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to the MeritPeak process. Initial conversations and evaluations are handled discreetly, and no introductions or outreach are made without your knowledge and approval.

MeritPeak starts with fit, not a destination. We first seek to understand your business, priorities, economics, growth goals, and long-term vision. From there, we evaluate the structures, firms, platforms, and opportunities that may best align with what you are building.

We use the MeritPeak Fit Framework to evaluate opportunities across economics, operations, client experience, culture, control, growth, enterprise value, and long-term alignment. The goal is to understand how the entire opportunity fits your business, not just how attractive one component may appear.

No. We evaluate the full spectrum of affiliation models, including employee firms, independent broker-dealers, supported independence, RIAs, hybrid structures, tuck-ins, partnerships, and other strategic opportunities.

Yes. We help advisors evaluate local and national opportunities, established firms and platforms, as well as selective, private, and off-market situations that may not be widely marketed. We also help determine which opportunities are worth pursuing based on fit, economics, and long-term goals.

Yes. We help advisors evaluate offers beyond the headline number, including upfront economics, payout, bonuses, equity, obligations, vesting, expenses, transition support, and long-term trade-offs. We also help clients understand their market value and approach negotiations from a position of knowledge.

MeritPeak is generally compensated by the firm, platform, custodian, or institutional partner an advisor ultimately affiliates with. We believe transparency matters, so compensation is discussed openly as part of the process. Our approach remains focused on fit, alignment, and the long-term outcome for the advisor rather than steering toward a predetermined destination.

Then staying may be the right answer. MeritPeak is not built around movement for the sake of movement. If your current platform remains the best fit for your business and long-term goals, that is a valuable conclusion.

We begin by understanding your business, what is working, what may not be, and what you are ultimately trying to build. From there, we determine whether a broader evaluation would be useful and what the next steps should look like.
